Group Swimming Lessons

 

Great for children of ANY ability level or age. Classes are available to children 18 and under who want to learn swimming basics or improve their strokes and skills. The instructor to swimmer ratio will be a 1:5, typically. Summer Sessions:

 

 

  Monday through Thursday for 2 weeks (4 different class times)

Class run Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 

 

8:30 AM or 9:30 AM

 

4:30 PM or 5:30 PM

 

Summer Session I: June 3rd -- 13th

              Registration closes May 30th

 

 

 

Summer Session II: June 17th -- 27th

              Registration closes June 13th

 

 

 

Summer Session III: July 8th -- 18th

              Registration closes July 4th

 

 

 

Summer Session IV: July 22nd -- August 1st

              Registration closes July 18th

Members: $30

 

Non Members: $60

 

*There is a $10 late fee for signing up past the registration date. Spots are limited due to pool space.

 

 

 

 

Swim Levels At A Glance

Pike

 

 

Children typically 3 to 5 years who are getting in the water for the first time.

Eel

 

 

Children typically 4 to 5 years who are able to perform above the pike level. Students should be able to put their faces in the water and blow bubbles.

Ray

 

 

Children typically 5 to 7 years who have passed the Eel course. Students will continue to learn the basic fundamentals of swimming. Students can float on stomach and back without float belt and are able to jump into the water and swim to the wall without a float belt as well.

Starfish

 

 

Children typically 6 to 9 years who have passed the Ray course and feel comfortable with the fundamentals of swimming. Children should be able to swim to half of the pool without a float belt.

Polliwog

 

 

For children typically 8 to 12 years of age who can swim the full length of the pool and has the ability to perform some freestyle and backstroke.

Guppy

 

 

Children typically 9 to 14 years who have passed the Polliwog class. Students can swim full length of freestyle and understand rotary breathing. Students can also swim 1 length of the pool performing the backstroke.

Minnow

 

 

Children typically 10 to 14 years of age who have completed the guppy level. Students have begun to learn the breaststroke. Can also perform a 50 yardss (1 lap or 2 lengths) freestyle.

Fish

 

 

Students typically 10 to 16 years of age who have completed the minnow level. Students can execute 1 full length of breaststroke and have begun to learn the basics of butterfly.
